Frequently asked questions

Everything about requesting a mobile mechanic on Trackara Find: cost, privacy, how mechanics are checked, and what happens after you send a request.

For customers

A free way to get a mobile mechanic to come to your vehicle. You describe the problem once, and Trackara sends it to verified mechanics whose service area covers you and who work on your kind of vehicle. The first one who can take it contacts you with a quote.
Nothing. Sending a request is free and needs no account. You pay the mechanic for the work you agree to, directly, at the price they quote you.
No. Trackara never handles payment for repair work. You and the mechanic agree the price, and you pay the mechanic the way you both agree. That keeps it simple: no deposits held by us and no platform fees added to your bill.
Only the one mechanic who accepts your request. Mechanics who are offered it see the vehicle, the problem, your photos and your city and ZIP. They never see your name, phone, email or street address unless they accept, and only one mechanic can accept.
No. Your request is offered to a small group of nearby mechanics at a time, and it is locked the moment one accepts. Your contact details are never sold or shared with anyone else.
Before a mechanic can receive requests, a person at Trackara reviews their business details, their liability insurance (carrier, policy and expiry date) and any credentials they list. If their insurance expires, they stop getting requests automatically. That check is not a guarantee of their work. How we check mechanics.
Trackara does not guarantee the work, because the job is between you and an independent mechanic. Ask your mechanic what warranty they give on parts and labor before you approve the quote, and get it in writing.
If no verified mechanic near you can take it, we tell you by email. Nobody receives your contact details, and you can send a new request any time.
It depends on how many mechanics cover your area. Each offer has a deadline based on how urgent you said it is, and if nobody accepts in time the next nearby mechanics are offered it. Your status page shows each step as it happens.
Yes. Use the link in your confirmation email to cancel at any time before the job is done. Any open offers are withdrawn and the mechanic is told.
Yes, once the job is marked done you get a link to review the mechanic. Only customers whose request went through Trackara can review, one review per job, so every review comes from real work.
Cars, trucks and SUVs, diesel pickups, RVs and campers, trailers, semis and heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, motorcycles and powersports, boats and marine engines, and EVs and hybrids. Each mechanic lists what they work on, and your request only goes to mechanics who take your kind of vehicle.
Sometimes. Tell us in your request if a manufacturer warranty, extended service contract or insurance claim is involved, so the mechanic can tell you whether they can work with it. Some coverage requires a dealer. Warranty repairs with a mobile mechanic.
Anywhere in the United States where a verified mechanic covers your ZIP code. When you enter your ZIP, the form shows how many verified mechanics currently cover it, including when that number is zero.

Leads are free while we launch. If that ever changes, we will tell you well in advance, and you will never be charged for a lead you already received.
Yes. Your marketplace profile, lead inbox and customer records live in Trackara Pro, so you need an account. Trackara Pro has a free trial, and leads go straight into the bookings inbox you already use.
A small batch at a time (currently three), closest first. The first to accept wins, and everyone else sees it as taken right away. A lead is never offered again once someone has accepted it.
Nothing bad. Passing is free and never lowers where you rank for future leads. Ranking uses distance, your verified-review rating, and who was offered a lead least recently. Acceptance rate is not part of it.
You do. When you accept, the customer's name, phone, email and address go to you, and the job lands in your Trackara bookings. Trackara takes no cut of the job and never offers your customer to another mechanic unless you release the job.
Yes. You quote the customer yourself and get paid directly by them, through your own payment setup. Trackara does not process payment for the work or add fees to it.
Your business details, current general liability insurance (carrier, policy number and expiry date) and any credentials you list, such as ASE, RVIA/RVDA or a state license. A person reviews each profile before it goes live. How we check mechanics.
Yes. There is an Accepting requests switch on your marketplace profile. Turn it off when you are booked up or on vacation, and on again when you are ready.
