Privacy notice

Who we are

Trackara Find (find.trackara.app) is operated by Commoner Apps LLC ("we", "us"). This notice covers the information you give us when you request a mobile mechanic or leave a review. Mechanics' use of Trackara Pro is covered by the Trackara Pro privacy policy.

What we collect

• Your request: vehicle details (type, year, make, model, VIN if you give it), the services and problem description, photos you upload, warranty or insurance involvement, urgency and preferred times.
• Location: the ZIP code and street address where the vehicle is, and the kind of place it is parked. We look up the ZIP's approximate coordinates to find mechanics nearby.
• Contact details: your name, mobile phone and email.
• Reviews you choose to write.
• Technical data: a temporary anonymous session so you can upload photos, and basic logs our providers keep to run and protect the service (for example a one-way hash of your IP address, used to limit spam).

How we use it

• To match your request with verified mechanics who cover your area and work on your vehicle, and to run the offer process.
• To email you your request link and updates about it.
• To show your review on the mechanic's profile, with your first name only.
• To keep the service safe: preventing spam and abuse, and investigating problems you report.

Who sees what

Mechanics who are offered your request see the vehicle, the problem, your photos, and your city and ZIP. Only the one mechanic who accepts receives your name, phone, email and street address. That mechanic is an independent business and handles your information under their own practices.

We use service providers to run Trackara Find, including Google Firebase (hosting data, authentication, file storage and email functions) and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (turning a ZIP into approximate coordinates). When you use the recall check or VIN decoder, your browser sends the VIN or vehicle to NHTSA, a US government agency, directly.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep request records while they are useful for the service, your support questions and our legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify them. You can ask us to delete your request data sooner, as described below.

Your choices

You can cancel a request at any time from your request link. To access, correct or delete your information, email support@trackara.app from the address you used. We will respond within the time the law requires. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our cloud provider. Request pages are reached only through a private link, and requests are not visible to the public. No method is perfectly secure, so keep your request link private.

Children

Trackara Find is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
